Selections based on a soft track.
Race 1
3. Shaggy is a well-bred galloped that has been racing well before drawing gate one in this event and coming into this on the back of a recent trial win. He looks to have plenty of potential and is not out of this. He has the inside barrier in this and looks set to figure in the finish. 2. Ol’ Mate Coop was safely held in his only Deagon trial but can improve here. 4. Smokey Saint wasn’t too far away in his trial. He was safely held but looks to have the talent to go on with the job. 6. Northern Glow has claims having finished third in a trial that only had four runners. She looks to have ability and is far from the worst in this.

Race 2
6. Enuff Pills has been placed in four of 13 starts. She hasn’t got the best of records but looks to have the talent to give this a shake. She wasn’t beaten too far away when last produced and should show up again here without shocking. 1. El Beatle has raced well when at his best and is not out of this. He wasn’t far away at Tamworth when last produced and isn’t out of this. 9. Parana River has shown some talent in her career and bears close watching in this. 10. Sweet Marlene was placed at Coffs Harbour when resuming and can show up again with a repeat. She was close-up two starts ago and is not out of this.

Race 3
4. Kid Billy has only had seven starts to his name and comes into this on the back of a last start fourth at Coffs Harbour. He can lift on that and take plenty of beating from gate two. 9. Clan D’Oro has been racing been well with a number of placings of late. He ran second here two starts ago and can run into the major end of the money again in this. 6. Shoot The Diva has been placed in a couple of runs and is not out of this. 7. Acireale Jayne has been placed in two of six starts and isn’t out of this.

Race 4
3. Golden Copper is from a handy stable that the mare has two wins and four second placings from just the 14 starts. She won at Grafton and then again at Coffs Harbour and was then close-up at Murwillumbah before being spelled. 4. Purple Esprit was a wnner at Armidale to starts ago and warrants respect again here. 6. Electric Eve has only won the one race from 13 starts, but she has been placed in another six starts before being spelled. He shows talent and is not out of this. 11. Shintaro Lass is a last start Bowraville winner that warrants plenty of thought in this.

Race 5
8. Key Legend has shown his share of ability in his career to date. The gelding by Churchill has two wins and as many placings to his name from a short career and show run well here. 6. Lease as only won two races from 44 starts but he has shown plenty of ability. He comes into this on the back of a last start fourth at Canberra and isn’t out of this. 9. Bondi Prophet won well at Muswellbrook two starts ago and then was beaten less than a length at this track when last produced. 1. Critical Time was placed here early last month and is not out of this.

Race 6
9. Lordster has only had 10 starts to his name but has won three of them and had a further four minor placings to his name. He’s finished third in each of his latest two starts at Doomben and only needs to run up to those efforts in order to be a contender in this. 14. Volcanic Love is a well performed gelding that wasn’t too far away at Rosehill when finishing fifth. He since ran third at Eagle Farm and was then down the track in Highway grade at Randwick before a last start win as favourite on a wet track at Lismore. 8. Debussy hasn’t been far away and has claims while 12. Tread Softly has a soft draw and is not out of this.

Race 7
9. Tootsie was a winner at Grafton two starts ago over 1720m. She wasn’t far away at this track last time out when resuming and should be able to make another impact again here without surprising. 1. King Cornelius was placed when finishing second at Taree three starts ago and has won two in a row at this track at his latest two starts. 10. Cool Machine did the job well to score at this track at the end of December and she could show up again with surprising. 4. Outback Crumpet is a last start winner at Quirindi that warrants respect here. Expect another bold showing.
