Indian equity markets are expected to open on a muted note on Tuesday, tracking weakness in global peers

Sensex Today: Indian benchmark indices opened on a positive note Tuesday, despite weakness in global markets following comments by US President Donald Trump targeting Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for not cutting interest rates swiftly.
At the opening bell, the BSE Sensex rose 132.58 points, or 0.17%, to 79,541.08, while the NSE Nifty50 edged up 25.40 points, or 0.11%, to 24,150.95.

Investor sentiment remained cautiously optimistic as attention turned to a fresh batch of Q4 earnings. Key companies including HCL Technologies, Delta Corp, and Cyient DLM are set to announce their quarterly results today.
“The Nifty has finally broken above the critical resistance at 23,800 after nearly two months of consolidation. This signals a potential move towards 24,250 in the near term, with room for further gains toward 24,600,” said Ajit Mishra, SVP – Research at Religare Broking Ltd.
“We maintain a bullish outlook and recommend a ‘buy on dips’ strategy. However, traders should be mindful of a possible pause or brief consolidation after the recent sharp rally. It’s advisable to avoid contrarian positions at this stage,” he added.
Global Cues
Wall Street closed significantly in the red on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 2.48 per cent to 38,170.41, the S&P 500 fell 2.36 per cent to 5,158.20, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.55 per cent to 15,870.90.
However, US futures indicated a slight recovery in early Asian trading hours. Dow Jones futures were up 0.33 per cent, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures gained around 0.4 per cent each.
In Asia-Pacific, the sentiment remained subdued. Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 0.2 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi declined 0.22 per cent, and Australia’s ASX 200 fell 0.54 per cent.
