• If you’re unable to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela this year, you can request a relative, neighbour, or friend to bring the Sangam water when they visit. One can add a few drops of holy water to their regular water and take a bath to get similar benefits and blessings of the Kumbh. The bath can be taken on any auspicious day.

• Several NGOs and organisations are working to send the water and prasad of the Maha Kumbh directly to the devotees’ homes. You can register for the Maha Kumbh water at these places. The Triveni Sangam Jal delivery service also ensures the delivery of water from Triveni Sangam to your home.

• In case of no possibility of receiving the holy water from Maha Kumbh, you can alternatively use Ganga Jal for the holy bath on any day of Amrit Snans. Doing charity after taking a bath will yield similar benefits.

• While taking the bath during the days of the Maha Kumbh Mela, you can chant the following mantra that focuses on the seven sacred rivers of India – Gange cha Yamune chaiva, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmade, Sindhu, Kaveri, jalesmin sannithim kuru.

• Chanting the mantra generates meditative vibrations that can elevate one’s mental state and offer spiritual peace.

• You can also indulge in another practice by taking a bath in the Brahma Muhurat, which is approximately 1 hour 36 minutes before sunrise. Considered the most auspicious time for spiritual activities, taking a bath will revitalise your mind and body for the entire day.

• Besides the religious methods mentioned above, the Kumbh administration has appointed social media influencers to directly showcase the beauty of the Mela to the people through social media. Through these devotees will be able to get updates every moment.

• Vodafone Idea in its latest initiative has collaborated with Shemaroo to livestream the event. The company said, “Our customers can experience the Shahi Snans on Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), and Maha Shivratri (February 26), as saints and devotees take holy dips in the sacred waters.” The platform will also feature recorded videos capturing anchored tours of Akharas, cultural performances of folk music, devotional songs, and more.
