Coldplay’s Chris Martin decided to surprise his fans during the concert in Navi Mumbai as he gave a shoutout to India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah on Saturday, January 18. Martin was on stage performing one of his famous songs ‘A sky full of stars’ on Saturday as the fans in attendance joined in to create a wonderful experience.
As the song was going on, Martin quickly took to the mic and told the fans that they would have to end the show quickly as Bumrah wanted to come backstage and play cricket with him. The Coldplay frontman would also joke that the Indian pacer wants to bowl at him.

“Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage,” said Martin.
“He (Bumrah) says he needs to bowl at me now.”
The fans got excited hearing the mention of Bumrah as they felt that Indian pacer could make surprise appearance on stage during the concert. However, that didn’t happen in the end. You can see the full video below:
The Coldplay concert in Mumbai certainly turned into ‘paradise’ for the fans in Mumbai as Chris Martin captivated the crowd and even addressed them in Hindi. The Bumrah shoutout certainly added to the excitement on the night.
Bumrah set for Champions Trophy assignment
While he may not have appeared during the Coldplay concert, Bumrah has been named in India’s Champions Trophy squad. The India pacer, who picked up 32 wickets during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, is expected to lead India’s attack during the tournament.
However, Bumrah is carrying a knock he picked up at the end of the Australia tour and is recovering at the moment. The India pacer will be monitored by the medical staff, according to chief selector Ajit Agarkar, as they’re expecting him to be fully fit for the entire duration of the tournament.
