West Coast star Reuben Ginbey remains without a set timeline for his return from a quad injury, while the club have also confirmed Jack Graham and Jack Hutchinson will not feature against North Melbourne on Saturday.
Ginbey, who had established himself as a contender for the All-Australian squad by making a brilliant start to the season, limped from the field midway through his side’s loss to Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
After confirming on Monday that he would not require surgery for the injury following consultation with a specialist, the club listed Ginbey’s estimated return timeframe as ‘TBC’ in their injury update released on Tuesday afternoon.
West Coast’s high performance manager Phil Merriman confirmed the 21-year-old had suffered a “high-grade quad injury”.
“Fortunately, he won’t require surgery at this stage, and he has already jumped into his reconditioning program,” Merriman said.
Ginbey made a brief appearance at Eagles’ training on Tuesday morning, doing some one-on-one work with Milan Murdock.
Meanwhile, Graham has officially been ruled out of the weekend’s clash with the Kangaroos and is instead set to return after the Eagles’ bye in round 15.
The tough midfielder-forward trained strongly on Tuesday but Merriman said he was “continuing to build his football load”.
“He will complete 95 per cent of the training this week and will be ready post-bye to attack the back half of the season,” he said.
Hutchinson — who was a more limited participant in Tuesday’s session as he works to overcome a hamstring problem — will also remain sidelined against North Melbourne, with Merriman saying he would integrate into main training on Thursday.
Alongside Ginbey, defender Harry Edwards remains without a timeline for a return as he continues his recovery from what was his third concussion of the season.
Edwards returned to the training track last week and also participated in Tuesday’s session, although he has not yet been re-integrated back into contact drills.
“Harry is still working through the process set by the protocols,” Merriman said.
“He is in great spirits and is looking forward to progressing.”
Veteran forward Jamie Cripps also remains listed as ‘TBC’ following a significant knee injury suffered playing in the WAFL last month.
