Draupadi is one of the most powerful female characters in the Mahabharata and is well-known as the wife of the five Pandavas, with whom she had five sons. However, not many know that Draupadi also had a daughter.
The bond between Draupadi and Shri Krishna is often portrayed as one of deep friendship and divine guidance. However, according to folklore, Draupadi and Yudhishthira had a daughter whose marriage marked a turning point in her relationship with Shri Krishna.

The Sons Of Draupadi And The Pandavas
Draupadi, the daughter of King Drupada of Panchal and twin sister of Dhrishtadyumna, became the wife of the five Pandavas. She had a son with each Pandava:
- Prativindhya from Yudhishthira,
- Sutasoma from Bhima,
- Shrutakirti from Arjuna,
- Shatanik from Nakul, and
- Shrutkarma from Sahadev.
Other Wives Of The Pandavas
The five Pandavas had other wives apart from Draupadi. Yudhishthira married Devika, the daughter of King Govasan of Shaibya, and had a son named Yaudheya.
Bhima had two other wives: Hidimba, from the demon tribe, and Valandhara, the princess of Kashi. He had a son named Ghatotkacha with Hidimba and Sarvag with Valandhara.
Arjuna further extended the Kuru dynasty by marrying Ulupi, a Naga princess; Chitrangada, a princess from Manipur; and Subhadra, Shri Krishna’s sister. Arjuna had three sons from these marriages: Iravan, Babruvahana, and Abhimanyu respectively.
Nakul married Karenumati from Chedi and had a son named Niramitra, while Sahadev married Vijaya from Madradesh, with whom he had a son named Suhotra.
The tragic irony is that all these sons perished in the Mahabharata war without any heir, except Abhimanyu, who continued the Kuru lineage by marrying Uttara, the daughter of King Virat and Sudeshna of Matsyadesh. They had a son named Parikshit.
Suthanu: Draupadi And Yudhishthira’s Daughter
According to folklore, Draupadi and Yudhishthira had a daughter named Suthanu. Ami Ganatra mentions in her book that Suthanu married Bhanu, the son of Shri Krishna and Satyabhama, after the war. This relationship made Shri Krishna the father-in-law of Draupadi and Yudhishthira’s daughter.
However, Maharshi Ved Vyas’s Mahabharata does not mention Draupadi’s daughter. It specifically mentions only Duryodhana’s son Laxman, while Shrimad Bhagwat Purana refers to Duryodhana’s son Laxman and daughter Lakshmana, who married Shri Krishna’s son Samb.
