A woman has died, and a man has been arrested following a carjacking and spate of crashes on the Sunshine Coast on Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 12pm, police received reports that a red Porsche Macan crashed on the Bruce Highway in Palmview near Sunshine Coast theme park Aussie World.
The crash caused a multi-vehicle pile-up, seriously injuring a man and woman in another vehicle.

The woman died at the scene, and the man was taken to hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported the Porsche was driving erratically immediately before the crash.
Police said the driver of the Porsche left the vehicle armed with a gun and stole a white SsangYong Rexton, shooting the driver in the arm.
The Porsche driver left the scene in the stolen SsangYong Rexton, which police found flipped over on Steve Irwin Way near Forestry Road, in Landsborough, less than half-an-hour later.

The man then allegedly stole another vehicle – a grey Mazda 3 – before being arrested on Steve Irwin Way. A firearm was recovered inside the car.
Officers established three crime scenes at the two crash sites and location of arrest, and closed sections of the Bruce Highway.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advised motorists all southbound lanes on the highway were closed, and delays were expected.
