1 killed, 10 feared trapped after speeding bus ploughs into vehicles in Delhi

A speeding private bus allegedly rammed into multiple vehicles in Delhi’s Nand Nagri area on Wednesday, leaving one person dead and several others injured, police said.

The crash took place near the Nand Nagri bus depot in North East Delhi and triggered chaos on the busy stretch as people scrambled for safety.

Initial reports from the spot suggested that several people may have been trapped beneath the bus after it ploughed through vehicles. Eyewitnesses claimed that as many as eight to ten people were feared trapped under the vehicle in the immediate aftermath of the crash, sparking a major rescue effort.

ONE DEAD, SEVERAL INJURED

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Delhi, one person died in the accident.

Police said two to three people suffered injuries and were taken for treatment.

Local reports from the scene suggested that four to five people were in serious condition, though officials are yet to confirm the final number of injured.

Emergency teams and police personnel rushed to the spot shortly after the crash and launched rescue operations.

BUS CRASH SPARKS PANIC

The accident occurred outside the Nand Nagri bus depot, where the speeding private bus allegedly lost control before crashing into multiple vehicles.

Visuals from the scene showed damaged vehicles and a large crowd gathering around the accident site as rescue workers searched for victims and cleared the roadway.

Police have begun an investigation to determine what caused the crash and whether negligence or overspeeding led to the accident.
