A 13-year-old boy has been killed in a stolen car crash in NSW, with another three teenagers in hospital under police guard.
The teenager was travelling in a Toyota Kluger that crashed into a paddock on Willow Rd, Gateshead at about 3am on Monday.
The car was reported stolen from nearby Swansea between 10pm on Sunday and 3am on Monday.
Despite first responders’ efforts, the 13-year-old could not be revived and died at the scene.
A 14-year-old boy also in the vehicle was arrested at the scene. He suffered leg injuries and was taken to hospital under police guard.
Police were told another two people were in the car at the time but fled before officers arrived.
Following inquiries, police arrested another 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man.
Both were taken to John Hunter Hospital under police guard.
No charges have been laid and investigations are ongoing.
