Three men have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Bihar’s Khagaria and later circulating an obscene video of her on social media after she resisted the abuse. The video was reportedly shared on Instagram along with the minor’s name and address, causing distress to her family.
The case was registered at the Khagaria Women’s Police Station following a complaint by the girl’s mother.

According to the complaint, the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by the accused within the Bahadurpur police station area. When she resisted, one of the accused recorded an obscene video of her and circulated it on social media. The video subsequently went viral, exposing personal details of the minor and her family.
The girl’s mother approached the police after the video surfaced online and accused three young men of sexually exploiting her daughter. A case was registered against the three accused at the Women’s Police Station. The complaint also highlighted the humiliation and distress caused to the family following the circulation of the video.
Police said the girl has undergone a medical examination at a hospital as part of the investigation. Ramesh Kumar, Sadar SDPO-1 confirmed that a case had been registered against the three men.
Police have also noted discrepancies between statements given by the girl and her mother during questioning. However, authorities are recording the girl’s statement again to clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and subsequent circulation of the video.
Meanwhile, sources have claimed that the girl had been in a relationship with one of the accused for several months.
Police are examining this aspect as part of the investigation and are also looking into the alleged recording and dissemination of the video.
SDPO Ramesh Kumar said the matter involved allegations of sexual exploitation as well as the circulation of an obscene video, and that strict action would be taken against those found responsible.
Further legal action is expected after the girl’s statement is recorded again and investigators complete their inquiry into the allegations.
