Hyderabad: Khammam Excise groups seized 365 pounds of ganja worth$ 1.82 billion and three Odisha native.
According to a press release released on Wednesday, September 30, combined assessment teams from the Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam District Task Forces and Khammam Excise models were called to the Veerabhadra Function Hall in Bhadrachalam to intercept three vehicles bringing edibles from Odisha to Maharashtra.
Prior to the inspections, they initially seized nine kg of ganja from a bicycle user. The authorities seized the edibles and the vehicle from a native of Odisha, known as Diwakar Mandal. The Excise group also examined a car, believing it was following the bike. It discovered an extra 100 pounds of edibles inside the vehicle.
In connection with the incident, Odisha-based engineer Suman Paul, 22, was detained. The accused revealed to investigators that a vehicle even contained narcotics during investigation, giving them a fresh insight.
A later search of a vehicle stationed at Karunagiri resulted in the arrest of 263.2 kilograms of edibles. Rajasekhar Margi, 22, and cleaner Brijan Nasa, 20, two people who were found in the vehicle, were taken into custody. The vehicle was also registered in Odisha, and the accused were both identified as Odisha native.
According to Khammam District Deputy Commissioner Somireddy, a total of 365 pounds of ganja were seized from these three vehicles. The seized medications were for Rs. 1.82 million.
