778 luggage of PDS wheat were discovered at a Bangalore personal mill.

Hyderabad: A surprise inspection revealed that grains were kept there for Public Distribution System ( PDS ) beneficiaries.

Officers found 778 sacks of grain weighing about 50 kg each, and 101 luggage weighing about 25 pounds each at New Bansal Rice Industries in Ibrahimpatnam. A vehicle, reportedly used for travel, was found with another 51 luggage inside.

Geetesh Bansal, the mill’s proprietor, was detained. He claimed to have purchased the corn from Bharati Industries in Mote town, Siddipet, to the authorities.

Fortified rice kernels ( FRK) associated with the PDS were discovered in the seized rice according to laboratory tests. Additionally, officials are looking into whether the stock was diverted to entitled ration card holders from the supply chain.

The Telangana Public Distribution System Control Order has registered a situation.
