Track soft 6 and rail out 3m from 850m to 350m and true the remainder.
Race 1
4. Tavijewel is well placed back in grade and deep into the campaign to claim a second win from his last three. Bolted in from the front at Dubbo before close up in tougher company at Mudgee. Will park on speed and looks well treated at the weights after the claim. 3. King Cornelius is an ex-Victorian having his first outing for the new Forbes stable, three weeks between runs. Had slowly progressed over the border as the distances have risen, drawn to get a soft run, and a leading country jockey takes over. 1. Egyptologist has ability and drops in grade deep into the prep. Led all the way to win in soft going at Wellington before dropping out after leading in a deeper race at Mudgee. Drawn to get an economical run, but still a query pushed out to this distance under a big weight. 5. Tokyo Queen is also hard fit and better suited over more ground; while 6. Legs Power is a minor money shot on the limit weight.
How to play it: Tavijewel to win.
Race 2
12. Star Of Indigo is a filly in the Damien Lane stable at Wyong primed to open her account returning for a second start. Was well backed on debut last winter when compounding late in a better maiden at Dubbo, and immediately spelled. Was good through the line in a recent trial and bred to relish soft ground. 10. Oakfield Mars is an honest stablemate of the top selection and big market watch resuming from a handy draw. 11. Prophet’s Lass is an emerging filly tracking to break through at her third start. 9. Maybe Bubbles is an ex-Victorian filly resuming off a trial win for the new Mudgee stable. Gap to the rest headed by 2. Harry, which can run into the money third-up.
How to play it: Star Of Indigo to win.
Race 3
1. Harvey’s Turn is a third-start improver from the same stable as the top selection in the previous race. Has to overcome a wide barrier, but comes through two stronger maidens when solid enough in the market and is desperate for more ground. Watch the market on lightly raced 3. Twice Az Cool, which comes back a shade in trip fourth-up for a leading country stable. Drawn to get cover with blinkers going on, and thrown in at the weights after the junior rider’s 4kg claim. Scratched from Scone on Sunday to be saved for this. 4. Glenn’s Legacy is a long way from his Goulburn base and drawn wide, but was solid to the line in a Super Maiden when first up for seven months. 7. Nothing Finer, dropping back from a tougher maiden, and 11. Miss Peony, which will appreciate getting back on soft ground, can both add value into trifecta and first four plays.
How to play it: Harvey’s Turn to win.
Race 4
2. Fined For Speeding is a progressive four-year-old that emerges as the one to beat deep into his second campaign. Has run home hard in his last three against deeper opposition and this is a significant drop in quality. Just needs to find early cover from a middle gate and can cut loose over the final 350m. The more the track dries out the better placed he is. 1. Castro has been up for a long time, and placed in three of his last four. Only got going late from a mile back at Parkes, but can settle closer in the run here from a softer draw. 5. Nandowrie can run well above his long price second-up having gone back to the trials after a first-up flop. 9. Bindaree Lass is a third-up improver over more ground.
How to play it: Fined For Speeding to win.
Race 5
5. Whittello Sun is a hard-fit three-year-old with ability from the same Scone yard as the previous top selection. Broke his maiden beating Fined For Speeding three starts ago, then finished well in a better race at Tamworth before having a torrid run in a BM 58 at Quirindi after being backed from $5.00 in to $3.70. Drawn better here on a suitably bigger course and thrives in soft ground. Another one bypassing Sunday’s Scone card to run here. 9. Saintly Sands has hit the line late in two runs back from a break, the latest in tougher Saturday company, but must be under the odds with a leading Sydney jockey giving way to a 4kg claimer. 4. Grande Diablo progresses off a narrow second-up maiden win. 12. Adamana is an each-way chance dropping in weight third-up. Keep safe 1. My Crown fourth-up at huge odds in an open race coming back in class; while 8. Exorbitant Miss charged home to claim her maiden at Quirindi, beating a handy one who has since bolted in.How to play it: Whittello Sun to win.
Race 6
3. Winning Emotions is another one from the Danny Williams camp at Goulburn well placed to pounce second-up over a furlong further. Took on much deeper metro races last prep, and rushed home into a place at Moruya three weeks ago. Will likely drift well back from the draw, but he’ll love the long stretch home at this course. 2. Fan Harder is progressive and will be hard to hold out second-up dropping back from a smarter Saturday Class 2 where she was beaten under a length. 4. Champers Girl is drawn to get a lovely run with cover third-up dropping in grade. 5. Ode So Much and 6. City Gold Speed, both second-up off long breaks, are each-way hopes.
How to play it: Winning Emotions to win.
Race 7
1. Andale Andale is a talented mare who hasn’t quite lived up to her potential, but finds an open and very winnable race deep into her campaign, coming back a furlong six weeks between runs. Missed narrowly in a good quality BM 66 before striking traffic trouble in a Class 3 Highway at Randwick. Handles all going. 4. London Boy shapes as the immediate threat fourth-up from a low draw. 2. Plenitude is a market watch at big odds back in grade third-up for a leading Dubbo stable. Keep safe both 5. Alby’s Mate, suited with the track continuing to dry out, and 8. Charlie Magic with a significant jockey change. Last-start Class 1 winner 3. Invincible Salex is the best of the rest.
How to play it: Andale Andale to win.
Race 8
11. Angie’s Sister is a lightly raced Dubbo mare ready to resume with a bang for only her second full prep. Thrashed her maiden opposition first-up last winter on heavy ground before being placed in her next two from on speed. Has superior tactical speed and is well in at the weights after the jockey’s claim. 3. Denman Force can get straight back to winning ways after dropping out in a much tougher Saturday Class 3 Highway 23 days ago. Had previously won two straight up to a higher level and relishes soft ground. Stablemate 6. Denman Bandit is sparingly raced, and was only collared late in a handy BM 58 at Quirindi. 15. Hanuman can give a big sight fourth-up if he gets a run after being well beaten by a very smart and exciting filly at Scone. 1. Obsessive Nature is a market watch at big odds, especially if the track improves towards a Soft 5. Include 9. Quick Sharp and 12. Miss Karis, both resuming, in wider exotic bets.
How to play it: Angie’s Sister to win.
