Evening sports fans,

Welcome to our live coverage of Origin II at the MCG. The World Cup ain’t got nothing… yeah nah, the World Cup has a bit on this still, but Peter V’landys can dream.

For now though, forget Canada v Qatar, it’s NSW v Queensland. And there’s an Origin shield on the line.

The Blues got out of jail in game one with the greatest comeback in Origin history, but it required a Kalyn Ponga send-off to trigger it. As a result, NSW are now 80 minutes away from securing the second series win of Laurie Daley’s coaching career.

It’s high stakes – because a Maroons victory would send them to Suncorp for a decider with serious momentum. I’m Dan Walsh, I’ll be tapping away all night, at least until Billie Eder lets me stop.

Christian Nicolussi, Roy Ward and Adrian Proszenko are our men on the ground in Melbourne, we’ll have kick-off at 8:05pm and an unhealthy amount of gibber until then. Hang about, it’ll be worth it, I swear.
