During the meeting, Bharat Lodha allegedly stated that the two girls had fallen into the River Chambal. The claim triggered panic among villagers and led to widespread speculation about the circumstances surrounding the sisters’ disappearance. Villagers subsequently informed the police.

Following the information, Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan, Additional Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Sharma, City Circle Officer Krishnaraj Jangid, personnel from several police stations and a forensic team reached the village and launched an investigation. A search operation has also been initiated in the River Chambal area.

A relative, Lakhpat Lodha, alleged that Bharat Lodha had taken four children along with his wife, son and brother in a vehicle on June 11. He claimed that the family later learned that the two girls had been killed. According to him, during the village meeting, Bharat stated that the girls had accidentally fallen into the Chambal river.

Father-son duo detained by police for questioning

SP Vikas Sangwan said police received information that two minor girls had allegedly been killed by their father and other family members. Preliminary questioning revealed that the girls were allegedly involved in a love affair and had earlier faced repeated counselling and physical assault by family members over the issue.

According to the initial information gathered by investigators, the girls were allegedly taken to a bridge over the Chambal river and pushed into the water. Police stressed that these findings are preliminary and that no final conclusion has been reached yet.

Authorities have detained the father and his son for questioning. The investigation is continuing on both technical and human intelligence fronts, while search teams remain engaged in efforts to locate the missing girls. The village remains tense and grief-stricken as police work to establish the exact sequence of events.
