Travis Kelce reflected on his proposal to Taylor Swift in his first podcast appearance since their wedding.
The NFL player married the pop superstar in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday (03.07.26) and he returned to public life on Wednesday (08.06.26) by releasing a new episode of his New Heights podcast alongside his brother Jason. During the final episode of the season, Travis looked back on the day he proposed to Taylor almost a year ago just hours after she made a guest appearance on the podcast with him.
He said: “Starting it [the podcast season] with Taylor, pretty epic. During that recording [of the episode], the entire time, I’m planning, like, I’m gonna ask this woman to marry me after this …
“[It’s] one [episode] I’ll remember forever.”
Travis added the episode with his now-wife was “really cool” and “pretty fun” but he did not mention the pair’s wedding.
It’s not known whether the podcast was recorded before or after the pair’s nuptials but the show won’t return until September.
Travis and Taylor have not shared any pictures from their big day, but details have been starting to trickle out courtesy of the guests who attended.
DJ Greg James – who attended with his wife, Bella Mackie – has revealed the couple had “multiple” wedding cakes to feed all 1,000 guests and the food served during the event was “plentiful and delicious”.
He told listeners on his return to BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show on Wednesday (08.07.27): “It wasn’t a sit-down dinner. A lot of the Brits did congregate for a bit. There were multiple cakes. here was 1,000 people, there were loads of cakes.
“There was lots of everything. You know at a wedding you sometimes get the first drink free, well this was you get the first 10,00 drinks free. I had the best night, maybe ever.”
Greg threw himself into the party atmosphere, adding: “There was an open invitation to get up onto the stage and dance while the DJ was on, and so I did …
“I still can’t quite believe that it happened. It does feel like an amazingly strange but exciting dream. It was unbelievably fun. The main headline is: Oh my god it was really fun.
“I didn’t tell any of my friends, I could [only] tell Bella as she was invited as well I couldn’t even tell my boss, I just took annual leave.”
And he was in awe at the star-studded guest list, which included the likes of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Lawrence.
He said: “Every 10 seconds it was a room full of the most famous people in the world.
“I just couldn’t believe. It was like going to Madame Tussauds but the wax was animated and you could interact with the wax and it talked back to you, it was absolutely mad. I think I had a few wees next to NFL players…
“At one point it was me, Bella and Hugh Grant and his wife.”
