A man in his 20s has died in hospital after he was found with critical injuries at a country town bus stop.
WA Police say emergency services were called to The Boulevard in Australind, about 150km south of Perth, about 1.20am on Sunday. The man was found unresponsive and rushed to Bunbury Hospital where he later died.
Officers from the homicide squad have been called in to help the investigation and two men, both in their 30s, are in custody. No charges have been laid.
On Sunday, WA premier Roger Cook said he was saddened by the “horrific” news.
“We’ve received reports there has been an assault, an alleged assault, in Australind,” he said. “It would appear to be a very violent incident, and I’m very pleased that the police were able to get on top of that situation.“I think everyone in Australind will be shocked by this news today, and our thoughts are with the friends of the individual.”
