Selections based on a good track.
Race 1
2. Luke Skywalker raced on the speed and fought on well when third last start at Gunnedah. He was placed at Muswellbrook four starts ago and was down the track in two runs in between. This isn’t an overly tough race, and he can break through. 4. Tarrant County hit the line well for a last-start placing at this track and only needs to run up to that effort to be difficult to hold out. 7. Albert’s Pick hasn’t been too far away in her most recent runs, and she can figure prominently on her best form. 9. Stormy Malice was placed at Coonabarabran when last produced and can get into the placings here.

Race 2
6. Magatama has only had two starts in her career and wasn’t beaten far in either of them. She resumes on the back of a barrier trial at Gosford, which she won. She can run well fresh against this opposition. 10. The Crusher was third on debut at Taree. 7. My Sweetheart ran second in the same race, and a forward showing can be expected. 9. Fioggia was not disgraced at Tamworth on debut and could get into the placings.
How to play it: Magatama to win.
Race 3
2. Sound And Vision has finished sixth in each of his past three starts, but has not been far away in any of them. He’s getting on in years, but still has a zest for racing and should get every chance from the inside gate. 4. Balmierro won in good style at Scone two starts ago and followed that up with a seventh at Grafton. This looks within reach. 9. Heapy’s Legacy hit the line well for a third last start at Gunnedah and can be thereabouts again. 11. Thundering Falcon is capable on his day and isn’t out of this.
How to play it: Sound And Vision each way.
Race 4
7. Immortal Rose ran well at Tamworth two starts ago before racing on the speed and fighting on well to score at this track when last produced. She can go on with the job now that she’s broken through. 10. Sanbina has been racing well with a win at Tamworth two starts ago followed by a last-start second at the same track. 3. Memphis Blue was a winner at Tamworth before a fourth at Scone and is not out of this. 5. Griffinstown Girl has not been far away in her past two starts and isn’t out of this.
How to play it: Immortal Rose to win.
Race 5
4. Ordinary Angel showed ability with three seconds at his second, third and fourth runs before breaking through with a last-start victory at Gunnedah as favourite. He’s drawn to get the run of the race here and can go on with the job. 5. Proclivity struck trouble last time out and should have figured in the finish. He looms as a leading contender. 1. Oenology is a handy performer that has been racing well since scoring at Muswellbrook five starts ago and warrants thought. 2. Damascus Gate is a talented galloper that can show up here.
How to play it: Ordinary Angel to win.
Race 6
2. He’s My Warrior was a winner at this track in April and followed that up with a third here. He’s been close up in his past two starts and only needs to run up to those efforts to be difficult to hold out. 3. Macleay was beaten less than two lengths when finishing sixth of seven at Tamworth when last produced and warrants thought. 4. Demarcate was a winner at Warren four starts ago and has performed well in each of his runs since then. He looms as a leading contender. 5. Enniroc was a winner at Grafton two starts ago and followed that up with a fourth at the same track when last produced. Another solid effort is expected.
How to play it: He’s My Warrior to win.
Race 7
4. Star Whisperer resumed from a spell at Muswellbrook two starts ago and held on to win. He followed that up with a 12th in a Highway at Rosehill and will find this much more to his liking. He can lift sharply and be in the finish again. 5. Altercation failed to beat a runner home at Gosford when last produced, but had been placed in two of her previous three starts at Taree and can be in the thick of things again. 6. Gelsey was racing well last preparation, resumes here and can give plenty of cheek. 3. Mirai San is first up from a spell and has performed well fresh.
