In Yelahanka New Town, a shipping worker was allegedly assaulted by a group of people after a speech debate in the first hours of Saturday, August 9, leading to the detention of four people, including two girls, for questioning.
Basavaraj, a native of Shahapur in the Yadgir city, reported to police that he was returning from a supply at around 4.30 AM when the incident took place near Santhosh Nagar in Attur.
Basavaraj claimed that after seeing him, the girls began abusing him in Hindi. The verbal exchange reportedly escalated when he admitted he could not speak Hindi and demanded they communicate Kannada.
People called two female acquaintances, they said.
He claimed that the party mistreated when attacking him. Basavaraj contacted his companion Ashok and requested that he appear to the location amidst more problems. However, the women reportedly called two female acquaintances to the site, as per the complaint.
Additionally, Basavaraj claimed that the party attacked him by grabbing a stick from the side of the road. Ashok allegedly assaulted and injured himself when he attempted to act.
Complainant is likewise studying BEd.
The victim has been a supply professional for about 18 weeks. He is also enrolled in Bengaluru North University’s final-year B. Ed program. Basavaraj claimed that his family’s financial difficulties had prompted him to start a job to support himself and pursue his knowledge.
Following his grievance, Yelahanka New Town authorities opened a case and detained four people who are being quizzed to determine their individual jobs in the event. Additionally, police are looking into claims that the people had drank alcohol prior to the encounter.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike leaders reacted to the event by requesting strict punishment for those concerned.
Praveen Shetty, the KRV president, claimed the sufferer had moved to Bengaluru from Yadgir to work for himself while furthering his knowledge.
” A lad has reportedly been assaulted while working to support his family and education. For events are detestable. We will be compelled to organize a larger protest if attacks on Kannadigas by people from different language backgrounds continue,” Shetty said.
Police said they are looking at CCTV footage and the claims of those present at the picture as part of the research. According to authorities, additional steps will be taken once the claims have been verified and the investigation is finished.
