Kenan Thompson has led tributes to his AllThat co-star Christy Knowings following her death aged 46.
Christy passed away on Tuesday (11.08.26), when she was taken off life support after being rushed to hospital the previous Friday following an asthma attack.
Kenan, who starred alongside Christy on the Nickelodeon show in the 1990s, took to his social media pages to pay tribute to the actress.
He wrote: “Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!!
“She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!”
While Josh Server, another of Christy’s All That co-stars, wrote on Instagram: “This is such devastating news.
“Christy was a light in every room and was such a kind soul. And Christy was an absolute scene stealer!!!!! Every time we performed she made every one around her better.
“She came in late in our run and never missed a beat. So sad for my whole Nick family. Sending love and prayers to her loved ones. Rest Easy.”
Christy’s aunt Tyleah Joseph announced her death on Facebook on Wednesday (12.08.26).
Following the news, her manager Al Hill told Variety: “Christy was a multi-talented lady.
“Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work.”
Christy joined All That in 1997, and appeared in more than 30 episodes of the comedy show over three seasons.
She made her final appearance on the programme in 1999.
Away from the Nickelodeon show, Christy appeared in 2009 film Mother and Child – on which she also has a writing credit.
She also appeared on Sesame Street alongside twin brother Chris, and went on to forge a music career when she released folk single To the World in 2020.
Christy’s death comes just six months after another All That star, Kianna Underwood, was killed aged 33 in a hit-and-run incident in New York.
