An old video of Ssunita Ahuja speaking about her husband Govinda working with female co-stars has resurfaced online and is drawing fresh attention as tensions between the couple have spilled into public view. In the clip, Ssunita says working with heroines is part of his profession and that while any woman could feel jealous, she does not object because it is his job.

The video has gone viral after Govinda and Ssunita exchanged remarks over his recent public appearances with actor Komal Rani Swarnkar. The row has unfolded alongside fresh rumours about Govinda’s personal life and Ssunita’s repeated allegations about his alleged affairs.
The resurfaced clip appears to be from the early years of their marriage and shows Govinda holding their daughter Tina in his arms. Govinda and Ssunita married in 1987, welcomed Tina in 1989, and later had their son Yashvardhan in 1997.
In the clip, a reporter asks Ssunita, “Ye itni filmo me kaam karte hai aur itne bade star ban gaye hai. Itni heroines ke saath kaam karte hai. To aapko kaisa lagta hai? (He works in so many films and has become such a huge star; he works with so many heroines. So, how do you feel about that?)
Ssunita replies, “Abhi inka profession hai ye. Kaisa lagna kya. Abhi kaam hai to karenge hi. Aur aap bolte ho ki jalan hoti hai to kisi bhi aurat ko jalan to hoga hi. Lekin inka profession hai to mein kuch bolti nahi hu. (This is his profession, after all. It’s not a matter of how I feel about it; if it’s his job, he has to do it. And regarding the jealousy you mentioned—well, any woman would naturally feel jealous. But since it is his profession, I don’t say anything.)
Recent exchange between Govinda and Ssunita
The clip has resurfaced after Govinda publicly responded to Ssunita over her recent remarks about his appearances with Komal Rani Swarnkar. In videos circulating online, the 62-year-old accused Ssunita of interfering in his work, trying to damage his public image and using inappropriate language in public comments. He also said she may need his support again in future and asked her to stay within her limits.
Govinda said Ssunita had become very serious about a clean-up drive that she now wants to clean out her husband.
He also said that when Ssunita was busy with her own work, including her food show Maa Hai Na and Lock Upp Season 2. He claimed that she had used Tina to call him on both shows and had taken his support, adding that it was her right to do so.
Responding to Ssunita’s remarks about age, Govinda said all major actors in the country have worked with younger women. He said those women got good films, name, fame and respect, while the actors got the chance to work with the young and therefore appeared youthful themselves. He then asked whether Ssunita does not want him to look young and accused her of trying to harm a major business venture over what he described as small expectations.
Govinda also claimed that a group or gang stands behind Ssunita.
Lastly, he said that Ssunita has started using too many abusive expressions, including “maa-behen ki gaaliyaan“, and urged her to pray that people do not get inspired by such behaviour. He said youngsters watch public figures and often follow how they behave. He added that if people begin speaking to her in the same manner, it would be embarrassing for everyone, and told her not to do it.
What triggered the row
Ssunita’s remarks came during a paparazzi interaction in Mumbai on August 14, when she was asked about Govinda’s airport appearances with Komal and the promotion of his upcoming projects. She questioned the promotions and said a film first has to be made, and promotion happens after the film is ready.
She then criticised Govinda for being seen with a woman she says is young enough to be his daughter. Ssunita said he should feel at least a little ashamed and that there should be some standards. She also makes a pointed remark about Komal’s appearance, saying that if her “sugar daddy” is so rich, she should at least wear decent clothes.
Rumours around Komal Rani Swarnkar
The speculation grew after Govinda and Komal were photographed together at Mumbai airport, with the images circulating widely on social media. Neither Govinda nor Komal has publicly confirmed that they are dating.
Komal Rani Swarnkar is a newcomer who is set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Govinda. He recently announced his return to the big screen with Roopa and Duniyadari, introducing her as the female lead of Roopa. Govinda is also producing the projects.
