Actor Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has crossed another major milestone at the box office. After a strong opening weekend and a steady run through Monday, the film remained firm on Tuesday, crossing the Rs 100-crore mark in India on Day 5.
Released on August 14, the sequel opened with Rs 22 crore on Friday, according to trade website Sacnilk. It witnessed a 55 per cent jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 33.75 crore, before earning Rs 26 crore on Sunday. The film then held its ground on Monday with Rs 9.25 crore.

On Tuesday, Day 5, Awarapan 2 added another Rs 9.75 crore to its India nett collection. With this, the film’s total now stands at Rs 100.75 crore nett in India. Its India gross collection has reached Rs 120 crore, while its worldwide collection stands at Rs 144.13 crore.

The milestone is particularly significant for Emraan Hashmi. Despite enjoying a strong fan following and delivering several successful films throughout his career, the actor had never previously crossed the Rs 100-crore mark with a film in which he was the solo lead.
Emraan had previously been part of Rs 100-crore grossers such as Tiger 3 and They Call Him OG, but both films featured him in supporting or antagonist roles. With Awarapan 2, he has now achieved a milestone as the lead actor.
The success also adds another chapter to the Awarapan franchise. The 2007 original failed to make a major impact during its theatrical run but gradually developed a cult following, with its music and emotional storyline helping it remain popular over the years. The sequel has successfully converted that nostalgia into strong box-office numbers.
Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, Awarapan 2 has already emerged as a hit. With an India nett collection of Rs 100.75 crore in five days, the film has recovered more than twice its reported production cost, further strengthening its position as one of Emraan’s biggest theatrical successes.
Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Survinder Vicky and Puran Gabbi in key roles.
