Medhavi Bidhuri has quickly become one of the talking points of the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026, with her quirky ‘6-7’ wicket celebration taking social media by storm. But the Delhi leg-spinner now has a more personal request – she wants India legend Virat Kohli to follow her back on social media.
Bidhuri produced the celebration after dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during Central Delhi Queens’ tournament opener on August 20. The 20-year-old finished with figures of 2/24, although her team went on to lose. Her No. 67 jersey made the celebration particularly fitting, with the number matching the viral trend.

“I have got so many followers now, but I want a follow-back from him (Kohli),” Medhavi said while speaking to journalists Ankita Mishra and Kunal Wahi on the sidelines of the WDPL.
KOHLI, MITHALI AMONG MEDHAVI’S IDOLS
Bidhuri also revealed that Kohli and former India captain Mithali Raj are among the cricketers she admires most.
“Virat Kohli, obviously, because he is from Delhi. And Mithali Raj is very patient. I have personally attended a lot of camps with her,” she said.
Despite being in the same vicinity as Kohli, Bidhuri has never managed to meet the former India captain.

“I have never actually met Virat. I was working out at the DDCA when he was there too, but we couldn’t meet,” she added.
Bidhuri’s rise has also brought her into the wider conversation around the Women’s Premier League. She was among the players registered for the WPL 2024 auction and now has her sights set on earning an opportunity in the franchise tournament.
RCB THE DREAM DESTINATION
If given the chance to choose her WPL destination, Bidhuri already knows where she would like to go. The leg-spinner has picked Royal Challengers Bengaluru as her personal favourite, with her admiration for Kohli playing a role.
“I would be happy if any team picks me, but my personal favourite is RCB because I know a lot of people there. Maybe it’s because of Virat as well, in fact,” she said.
The leg-spinner has already attracted attention beyond her latest viral moment. Bidhuri featured for South Delhi Superstarz in the 2025 DPL final and produced a match-winning spell of 3/26 as they edged Central Delhi Queens by one run to lift the title.
Bidhuri has been part of Delhi’s domestic setup for several years and has also represented Delhi at Under-19 level.
