A 23-year-old PhD student died after allegedly falling from the 27th floor of a high-rise residential society in Ghaziabad’s Siddharth Vihar on Tuesday evening, police said. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
The incident took place at Prateek Grand City Society under the Vijay Nagar police station area. The deceased, identified as Vaibhav Singh, was originally from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and had been staying with his paternal aunt and uncle in the society’s C-4 tower for around a week.

Vaibhav was pursuing a PhD at Delhi’s Deshbandhu College. At around 7.20 pm on Tuesday, he was found dead in an open area on the ground floor in front of the lift. Preliminary investigation indicated that he had fallen from the 27th floor.
Police said no suicide note was found at the scene. Vaibhav’s family members also could not provide any clear information about the circumstances leading to his death. While suicide is suspected, police said the exact cause of death has not yet been established.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police are investigating all aspects of the case, and the actual cause of death is expected to become clear after the post-mortem report and completion of the investigation.
