The trailer of Nikkhil Advani’s period drama series, The Revolutionaries, was released on August 26, with the show set to premiere on Prime Video on September 11. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s non-fiction book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, the series stars Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, Rohit Saraf as Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin and Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri.

Set during India’s freedom struggle, the Hindi original series follows four young revolutionaries as they take up armed resistance against British rule, with General Dyer, played by actor Jason Shah, pursuing them. The trailer presents the story as one shaped by youth, friendship, conviction and sacrifice.
Directed and created for the series by Nikkhil Advani, The Revolutionaries is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment. The series is written by Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta. Alongside the lead cast, the show also features actors Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury in key roles.
The trailer introduces Rash Behari Bose, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Pratibha Lahiri and Bagha Jatin as they organise a rebellion against the British empire. The visuals focus on confrontations, chases and large-scale action set against the backdrop of colonial India, while also framing the story around four young Indians willing to risk everything for freedom they may never see.
Bhuvan Bam said, “What excited me about The Revolutionaries was that it isn’t a conventional freedom-fighter drama. It’s a story about four young heroes fighting for what they believe in, while navigating conflicts and a brotherhood forged in blood.”
He added, “Rash Behari was a ‘behrupiya’, a master of disguise who infiltrated British camps. Because so little archival material exists about him, I had the freedom to build him from instinct, and Nikkhil sir’s clarity and conviction gave me the confidence to explore that mystery. We have had the best cast and crew come together to make this show, and I’m grateful to Prime Video for bringing these untold stories to audiences around the world.”
Rohit Saraf said, “Playing Sachindra Nath gave me the opportunity to step into a world that was completely new – both physically and emotionally. While it is an honour to portray a real-life hero from India’s fight for freedom, what stayed with me was his childlike innocence paired with an unshakeable conviction; qualities that make him remarkably relatable even today.”
“It was a role that required intensive training, allowing me to push myself far beyond my comfort zone. Collaborating with Nikkhil Advani and the team behind The Revolutionaries has been nothing short of a dream, and I hope the audience connects with my character and the poignant stories this series brings to light,” the actor added.

Gurfateh Pirzada added, “Stepping into The Revolutionaries introduced me to a chapter of our history I knew very little about. What stayed with me about Bagha Jatin was his quiet strength, controlled aggression, and the weight behind every word he spoke.
“Nikkhil sir’s vision was clear from day one: this had to feel young, fast-paced, and action-driven, not like a conventional period drama and unlike anything I have ever done. While the story is reimagined for cinematic effect, the conviction and courage of these revolutionaries is something that will inspire generations to come. I hope the series not only entertains, but also encourages audiences to discover more about these lesser-known heroes when it premieres on Prime Video,” the actor concluded.
The Revolutionaries will stream in Hindi, with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali on Prime Video September 11, 2026, onwards.
