Shocking footage has captured a father allegedly being bashed near a school by a student reported to have mixed martial arts training, following an alleged confrontation in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
The clash unfolded last Monday after the father reportedly went there over concerns about his daughter and to confront students he believed had been bullying her.
The Herald Sun reports the students involved in the altercation were not the alleged bullies.
Video of the incident, which has only now emerged, appears to show the man being thrown to the ground and punched repeatedly in the face as staff and bystanders scramble to intervene.
A woman nearby was also pushed into a fence during the chaos.
In the footage, a staff member can be seen trying to break up the fight, while other students shout and run around the pair filming the confrontation.

Vision then appears to show the fight spilling towards the roadside before flaring up again near a bus stop.
Media reports have described the student involved as being trained in mixed martial arts, but that has not been independently confirmed.
Victoria Police said officers attended the school after the incident, but no reports have been made to police.
A Department of Education spokesman said the school “is committed to a safe and supportive culture for all staff and students”.
“Any form of violence or bullying at any school is unacceptable and the school takes immediate and appropriate disciplinary action where required,” the spokesman said.
