40′ Manly review a knock on call, and lose their review
“You’re killing us,” says Ben Trbojevic after a knock on is given against Manly.
He is not happy.
The scrum has been given…
And the review shows that Ben Trojevic, of all people, got a touch on the ball to knock it on out the hands of the Warriors player.
I have already questioned the intelligence of an NRL player in the blog this round, but I’m going to do it again.
Ben Trbojevic knows he touched the ball. He has a go at the referee for calling that he got a touch on the ball. And now a replay has shown that he did get a touch on the ball. That’s dumb.
Tom Trbojevic pushes his own players away from the referee – good captaincy from Turbo.
Anyway, the Sea Eagles will have to defend a scrum and they manage to do so as the Warriors fluff their lines.
39′ Jamal Fogarty kicks out on the full now!
The Sea Eagles are under the pump and Jamal Fogarty has to kick for the sideline from deep in his own half.
But he gets his angles wrong and it’s his turn to make the mistake now.
The Warriors will have a chance to attack now.
35′ Penalty Warriors
There’s an escort called against Josh Feledy.
Manly are not happy about it and it did look a bit soft from the high bomb.
But the Warriors don’t care.
Demitric Vaimauga has been put on report for a dangerous tackle as well, which must have been missed on field (by everyone, as it turns out, because I missed it).
We’ve just seen a replay of that too, and there wasn’t a whole lot there either to be honest.
31′ Warriors score another one!
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad scores, but the floating pass from Te Maire Martin was a thing of beauty.
He floats the ball up over the top for Nicoll-Klokstad to run onto and score in the corner.
That was beautiful.
You won’t see a player run onto a better pass in Australia all year, even at the NFL at the MCG next week. Glorious.
The kick is missed so it remains 20-12 but the Warriors firmly in control.
There was some issue with Jamal Fogarty earlier in the set, but the Manly halfback seems to be OK.
29′ Tom Trbojevic kicks it out on the full
Oh yikes, that’s rubbish from Trbojevic.
He looked to put in a kick to the corner after a pretty solid set from the Sea Eagles.
But he has shanked it in the same way so many Saturday morning club golfers would have experienced earlier today.
26′ The Warriors have another one!
That is lovely from the Warriors.
Taine Tuaupiki strolls through a massive gap with an electric step off left and right foot.
There was a bit of concern over Sam Healey, who was brought down short of the line and got up holding his ankle as he played the ball.
The gap Tuaupiki went through was massive – I have no idea how the Manly defence switched off so dramatically – there were three men standing still.
Gerard Sutton almost got in Tuaupiki’s way before he dotted down.
He converts the try and it’s 16-12.
24′ Penalty Warriors!
Erin Clark has just run over Clayton Faulalo, sending the youngster onto his backside faster than an admonished high school student.
The referee blows a penalty, not sure what for, and Haumole Olakau’atu takes exception to the way Clark has run roughshod over his halfback and they come together.
Still don’t know what the penalty was for – but it goes the Warriors’ way.
22′ Try Warriors!
BANG go the Warriors!
Hard running up the middle by the peroxided Jacob Laban, the offload to Taine Tuaupiki, who slides over the line untouched.
The loose forwards doing the hard work through the middle and the backs finishing it off without even getting mud on their shorts, just as the rugby gods intended.

The kick from Taine Tuaupiki is good, he converts his own try.
It’s 12-10 to the Sea Eagles.
20′ MANLY THROW A FORWARD PASS!
That was wonderful! A spectacular move down the right side from the Sea Eagles, who are tearing the left side of the Warriors defence to shreds.
Garrick, inside to Olakau’atu, back inside to Trbojevic and then he looks for Jason Saab but the pass was clearly forward and that butchers the chance for the Sea Eagles, who looked to go long again.
Close.
That left defence looks very poor for the Warriors.
17′ INTERCEPTION! Manly scores!
Coast-to-coast by the Sea Eagles!
Jason Saab read the move on his own 10 and made the interception.
He pinned the ears back and raced up field, only for Taine Tuaupiki to chase him down and make a brilliant tackle.

The Sea Eagles regrouped though and shifted the ball to the left side for Lehi Hopoate to finish things off.
A lovely try against the run of play, really good composure there.
The Warriors had the overlap at one end, had a pass picked off and now they’re down by 8.
The kick from Fogarty is good and it’s 12-4 to the Sea Eagles!
15′ The Warriors are over, but it’s disallowed!
Jacob Laban made a brilliant run up the middle.
That put the Warriors on the front foot and they continued to press forward.
Laban got his hands on the ball again and passed to the foot of Te Maire Martin, who kicks forward and then dots down.
But the pass was forward out the hands and it’s a good decision to disallow the try.
12′ Try Warriors
Adam Pompey is the beneficiary after Eddie Ieremia-Toeava poked his nose through the line!
It was a great pass, and great strength from Ieremia-Toeava, but great support play from Pompey on the outside.
The kick is missed by Taine Tuaupiki so, Manly still leads, 6-4.
11′ Penalty Warriors
Simione Laiafi is deemed to have pulled the man down as he attempted to play the ball.
I think he was off balance, myself.
Regardless, it’s a penalty to the Warriors.
9′ Off-colour Warriors helped by moment of magic
Chanel Harris-Tavita with the one-on-one strip!
That’s a great effort from the halfback.
The Warriors don’t quite look like they’re at the races there.
The Sea Eagles have looked to open them up down the right side twice already – and if not for a poor pass the second time, they’d have done so twice as well.
Te Maire Martin lost the ball … it’s not been quite what Andrew Webster would have wanted.
5′ Manly score the opener!
That’s sensational from the Sea Eagles!
Great, quick hands and short passing from just outside their own half down the right side gives Reuben Garrick some space to run into.

Garrick finishes it off, and improves the angle to score his 99th try in Sea Eagles colours.
The kick is good and it’s 6-0 to the Sea Eagles!
4′ Sea Eagles hold on!
Eddie Ieremia-Toeava loses the ball!
There were some tremendous tackles there, Jake Trbojevic and Nathan Brown both involved in a couple of them – and the last together as Ieremia-Toeava loses it in the tackle.
That’s great defence from the Sea Eagles, who had to hold out during a set restart too.
And now they get a relieving penalty as James Fisher-Harris gets a bit handsy in the tackle.
2′ Penalty Warriors
James Fisher-Harris loses the ball after being tackled, but there was a clear hand in there from Jamal Fogarty so it’s a penalty to the Warriors, which will get them to the Manly 10 to start their attacking set.
