On Saturday, actor Govinda made a cryptic reference to the storm around his marriage to Ssunita Ahuja, choosing his words carefully without naming her or addressing any allegation directly. At a Dahi Handi celebration in Mumbai, the actor and politician said that “many things” had been “written in the sky” about him and hoped they would be cleared up, adding that he wanted to clear them himself.

Govinda‘s remarks came during his appearance at the Youth Shakti Dahi Handi event, where he spoke about tradition, his fans and his plans to return to the big screen. Rather than getting into the details of the controversy, Govinda kept his message brief and asked his supporters to stand by him.
Speaking to the gathering, Govinda said, “Aur bahut si baatein aasmaan mein likh di gayi hain, main maayi se prarthna karta hoon ki woh clean-up ho aur Govinda use clean up kar paaye (And many things have been written in the sky. I pray to the Mother that they are cleaned up and that Govinda is able to clear them up).”
He did not elaborate on what he meant by the things “written in the sky”, nor did he directly refer to any of the allegations or recent remarks surrounding his marriage. Instead, he appeared to leave the matter open, saying he hoped he would be able to clear things up himself.
Govinda also made an appeal to his fans, asking for the same support and affection they have shown him over the years. “Aaplog ka sahyog chahiye, saath chahiye. Theek waise hi sahyog aur saath chahiye jaise yahan par dekhne ko milega (I need your support and companionship. I need the same support and togetherness that I have seen here),” he said.
Govinda seeks support for his big screen comeback
The actor went on to thank his supporters for standing by him through the years. “Main bahut bahut dhanyavaad deta hoon aap logon ka ki varshanuvarsh aap logon ka sahyog mila hai (I thank all of you very much for supporting me year after year),” he said.
Govinda then shifted the conversation to his return to films. He said he was coming back to the big screen with two projects, Roopa and Duniyadari, and once again asked his fans for their support. He ended by asking his fans to pray for him.
Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja’s marital row
The remarks came after months of public attention around Govinda and Ssunita’s 39-year-old marriage and his rumoured relationship with his Roopa co-actor Rani Swarnkar.
Ssunita’s comments about Govinda’s alleged relationships first drew renewed attention in 2025, when she spoke about rumours linking him to a Marathi actor. The subject resurfaced in June 2026 during her appearance on Lock Upp, where she claimed Govinda had “countless flings over the years” and said, “Infidelity has been happening since day one, hasn’t it?”
A month later, Ssunita spoke more warmly about her marriage in another interview. She said she continued to love and trust Govinda despite everything that had been discussed publicly. “Even if he goes to 50 places, I know he will come back to me,” she said, as translated.
The couple later found themselves at the centre of another public spat after Ssunita commented on the appearance of Swarnkar. Govinda responded by asking Ssunita to “stay within your limits” and accused her of trying to damage his reputation and affect his comeback film.
