A family of four from Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district jumped into the Godavari River, police said.
The family has been identified as Namburi Srinivas, 45, his wife Namburi Padmini, 42, and their two children of 15 and 16 years of age.
According to preliminary information, the family travelled from Tanuku, West Godavari district on two motorcycles before reaching the Chinchinada Vasishta Godavari Bridge. They reportedly jumped into the river from the bridge.

Padmini was rescued by local fishermen shortly after she fell into the river. She was taken to a government hospital in Tanuku for treatment.
POLICE LAUNCH SEARCH OPERATION
Srinivas and the two children, Eshwar and Nithya, remain missing, according to the preliminary information. Police and rescue teams have launched a search operation in the Godavari River to trace them.
Police suspect that financial problems may have prompted the family to take the extreme step. However, the exact reason behind the incident has not yet been confirmed.
