Bengaluru: The Karnataka Food Safety and Drugs Control Department conducted continuous searches on Amazon-owned stores in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural regions for allegedly storing drugs without the necessary license.
According to certain intelligence reports, authorities seized treatments for Rs 4, 02, 352 from two locations during the procedure.
A group led by Assistant Drugs Controller Manohar of the State Intelligence Wing raided Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd’s unregistered facilities in Tattanahalli in the Anekal district in the Bengaluru Urban area.
During the examination, authorities discovered medications that were reportedly kept without a valid license. Around Inr 2, 45, and 352 were taken from the premises.
In addition, officials conducted an inspection of another unregulated Amazon facility in Devanahalli’s Bengaluru Rural district’s Aerospace Park neighborhood. District medication inspector Vibha led the procedure.
During the evaluation, officials seized Rs. 1, 57, 000 of medicines from the Devanahalli center. No true documents, according to the office, were discovered at either area that authorized the safe-keeping of medicines. The attacks were carried out as part of an effort to stop illegally distributing and stocking medications on e-commerce sites.
Users are warned by the ministry
Businesses are required to obtain the required licenses and adhere to prescribed circumstances in accordance with the regulations governing the sale and store of medicines. According to authorities, the initiative was meant to prevent the storage or distribution of medicines in unlicensed facilities.
The ministry has cautioned e-commerce companies and other businesses against breaking drug-control laws. According to officials, similar inspections will proceed against businesses that reportedly store medicines without the necessary approvals.
Police teams, according to the Medicines Control Department, will continue to monitor these facilities throughout the state and take action if there are any signs of licensing or store violations.
