OnePlus currently seems to be mostly focusing on its budget lineup in India. The company has now teased the OnePlus N6 Lite after introducing the ‘N’ series and launching the OnePlus N6 and OnePlus N6x in the country. While OnePlus has not revealed the launch date or specifications yet, the teaser gives us a first look at the phone and hints at what the company is planning.

The OnePlus N6 Lite is expected to sit below the OnePlus N6x and could become the most affordable smartphone in OnePlus’ current portfolio. The phone is also expected to arrive later this month, although OnePlus has yet to confirm an exact date.
OnePlus N6 Lite: What we know so far
The Amazon microsite carries the tagline “Powerfully big” and shows the OnePlus N6 Lite with a flat display and a centrally placed punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone also appears to have a green frame, suggesting that a green colour option could be part of the lineup.
The N6 Lite will be the third smartphone in OnePlus’ N6 family, following the OnePlus N6 and N6x. The N6x currently sits at the entry point of the series and was launched at Rs 18,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, although its current starting price is Rs 20,999 according to the provided source.
OnePlus has not shared much else about the N6 Lite yet. However, tipster Abhishek Yadav claimed that the phone could come with 4GB of RAM. Another report suggested that OnePlus is preparing a new 4G smartphone for India in September, raising the possibility that the N6 Lite could be a 4G-only device.
The N6x could offer some clues about what to expect from its cheaper sibling. It comes with a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset and a large 7,000mAh battery. It also features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Whether the N6 Lite will follow a similar formula remains to be seen.
For now, OnePlus is keeping the details under wraps. But if the company manages to bring a big battery and an affordable price tag to the N6 Lite, it could make the phone an interesting option in the crowded sub-Rs 20,000 segment. More details about its specifications, price and availability should emerge as the launch gets closer.
