The Perth Wildcats’ search for an import guard is over after former NBA veteran Brandon Knight agreed a one-season deal with the NBL championship contenders.
Knight will bring a wealth of experience to the Wildcats’ back-court after more than 10 years in the world’s premier competition.
The 34-year-old American was drafted at No.8 overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2011 and played with seven NBA teams while hampered by a series of injuries.
Knight’s best NBA season was with the Phoenix Suns in 2015-16, when he played 52 games and averaged a career-high 19.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
He last played in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in 2022 and arrives in Perth after a stint in Puerto Rico’s top league with Mets de Guaynabo.
The Wildcats’ deal with Knight is pending NBL approval ahead of their opening-round clash with South East Melbourne Phoenix at RAC Arena on Saturday night.
