British-Australian Actress Sheila Kennelly has passed away at her Hunter Valley farm aged 88.

Kennelly was best known for her roles as Floss McPhee in the original Home and Away cast, as well as a barmaid Norma Whittaker in the 1970s classic No. 96 and the jolly Italian mother-in-law Rosa on Kingswood Country.

“She was surrounded by her dogs and dear family who looked after her so lovingly in her last days,” film and TV historian Andrew Mercado said.

Kennelly was born in the UK and moved to Australia as a child.

She attended the North Sydney Girls High School and trained at the Independent Theatre.
