Fremantle forward Jye Amiss possesses an unwavering confidence.
“We definitely lose no trust, no trust in any of us forwards,” Amiss said in reply to a quieter September from the Dockers’ tall goalkickers.
“We’re really connected, we stick together and we’ll get the job done.”
The Dockers’ towering trio – Amiss, Patrick Voss and Josh Treacy – have combined for 164 goals this season but they have fired in just one of their three finals.
But form, the Harris Andrews-led Brisbane backline and expected rain hold no fear for Amiss.
“I think the way we set up the ground, our roles, the way we play as forwards,” Amiss said.
“I think, I’ve mentioned it multiple times before, but the fact we’ve been able to do it over the course of the year.”
Voss shapes as the most important Fremantle forward if he matches up with Andrews.
Amiss says the energetic Voss “brings something different” to the Dockers.
“Obviously, he has a lot of energy as a person and obviously there is a fair crowd that get into the ‘G as well,” he said.
“His energy that he brings is awesome. It brings something different to our side which we love and to our forward line as well.”
The Dockers and Lions have opposing grand final experience, but that too is a non-factor to Amiss.
“Obviously, they have experience and have been here before, but I feel like our footy has been good enough to beat anyone this year,” he said.
“The way we’ve come out of games and reviewed them, being able to back up performances, I think, holds us in good stead.”
