An IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Bengaluru suffered a tail strike during its second landing approach at Kempegowda International Airport, sources told India Today.
Flight 6E 6542 carried out a go-around during its initial approach to Bengaluru airport. During the second approach, the aircraft’s tail struck the runway while landing.
The aircraft, however, completed the landing safely on the second attempt, and all passengers disembarked safely.

Sources said an alternate aircraft was arranged for the Bengaluru-Coimbatore leg to ensure there was no disruption to operations. There was no impact on airport operations following the incident, they added.
The circumstances surrounding the tail strike are being examined. An official statement from the airline is awaited.
