A young Perth family’s world has been turned upside down after a devoted mother-of-two died suddenly at the age of just 40.
Angela McAllister passed away following a sudden brain aneurysm on Friday and is being remembered as “one of the kindest people” by those close to her.
She leaves behind her husband Keith and their two young children, eight-year-old Emily and three-year-old Curtis.
In the wake of the unimaginable tragedy, Ms McAllister’s sister-in-law, Belinda Whelan, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help ease the financial pressure on the grieving family as they navigate life without her.
“At 3.55pm on the 25th of September 2026, following a complication with a brain aneurysm Angela McAllister passed away surrounded by family,” Ms Whelan wrote.
“Angela is loved by so many who have asked family how they can contribute to ease the pressure on Keith in an unimaginable time.
“Angela just celebrated her 40th birthday, she loves her friends, her family, and above all else, her kids. Thank you so much for your support in this tough time.”
The unexpected loss has devastated those closest to her, including her best friend Amanda Byers, who was meant to be on a camping trip with Ms McAllister when the tragedy occurred.
Taking to Facebook from the campsite, Ms Byers shared a heartbreaking tribute reflecting on the everyday moments they would no longer share.
“I still can’t believe I’m sitting here camping without you, Angela McAllister. You were meant to be here,” she wrote.
“We were meant to be sitting around the campsite talking about everything and nothing, laughing, complaining about the kids, talking about school and work, and all the completely ordinary things we talked about every single day.
“Instead, I’m here without you, and it feels so incredibly wrong. I keep thinking about all the little things. You wanted to bring microwave meals camping and I wouldn’t let you. I bought you fairy lights for your tent because I was going to surprise you. I never got to.”
Ms Byers said the tragedy has left a whole in her heart.
“I don’t think I realised just how much of my everyday life was intertwined with yours until you were suddenly gone,” she said.
“We texted every day about everything — the kids, their teachers, when they were sick, work, family, random things that probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else. You were simply there. Every day.
“And now there’s just this huge, horrible absence where you should be.
“You were one of the kindest people I have ever known. You were my best friend, and I am going to miss you in all the big moments, but I think I’m going to miss you most in the tiny, ordinary ones.
“I wish you were here. I wish I was hanging the fairy lights on your tent. I wish we were sitting here talking about everything. I love you, Ange. I always will.”
