Kyle Sandilands has accused multiple state powers of using bots to “bring down” his new streaming venture following his departure from radio earlier this year.
The ex-shock jock took to social media on Wednesday to claim his network Kyle Sandilands Live was the subject of numerous cyber bot attacks, which reportedly spiked after he aired conversations regarding One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson and MP Barnaby Joyce.
Kyle Sandilands has alleged his new streaming venture was attacked by bots.
“What the problem is, is there are bots coming out of Canberra and Russia and China … all trying to shut down our platform,” Sandilands alleged in a video to his followers.
“It all started since we started talking to Pauline and Barnaby the other week and it went on and on and on and on.
“It’s a full attack from multiple countries and our own and I just don’t understand: where is the end game here? what are you trying to do?”
Sandilands offered no proof of the alleged attacks, apart from his word.
He warned his alleged attackers would not dissuade him from speaking out – particularly his views on government spending.
“You can put as many bots as you want on this thing we will not shut down, we will not falter, we are here to stay,” he said.
“We will not shut down, we will not be silenced, we will say whatever we want.
“Good luck bringing us down you f***ing piece of sh**.”
The caption on the Kyle Sandiland Live video explained the bot activity had seemingly ignited two weeks prior.
“KS Live is completely unfiltered and alongside the usual fun, chaos and giveaways, we are having the conversations nobody else is brave enough to – and going off the attacks on our site over the last two weeks, it seems some people don’t like that,” the caption read.
In videos posted to his social media channels last week, Sandilands called Senator Hanson “Australia’s most trusted politician”.
In June on his network, Sandilands told listeners he had been spending time working with Senator Hanson and her team after being dropped from his radio show with KIIS FM.
“(I’ve) been working on them to get their messaging across, which I think has been well-received,” he said.
Sandilands claimed Senator Hanson was a “surprise” and was “very inspirational”.
“She’s, like, one of my favourite people now,” he said.
However, One Nation staffer James Ashby told media the controversial radio figure was not officially working with the party but rather Senator Hanson had reached out to him after “sh*t hit the fan”.
Sandilands launched his independent network soon after his axing by former employer ARN.
ARN agreed to pay him $12m after his termination from a 10-year $100m contract relating to an on-air spat with former co-host Jackie “O” Henderson in February.
The streaming service is advertised as a paid subscription platform built to “let you watch Kyle directly rather than through the restrictions of traditional radio”.
