The City of Joondalup’s light festival Bloom has returned to Joondalup’s Central Park, and guests got a sneak peek on Friday night of the new interactive light trail.
They were hosted by the city and North Metropolitan TAFE at the latter’s Pavilion Restaurant in Joondalup where they were treated to canapes and mocktails prepared by students.
Mayor Daniel Kingston spoke along with TAFE training operations and business improvement acting director Keith Campbell and Juan Zubiaga, the creative director for Laservision and Bloom Joondalup.
The ticketed after-dark experience will run until October 25. Titled Living Connections, the display is centred around four hero characters — a fairywren, long-necked turtle, kangaroo and quenda.
“People will never forget how we are making them feel,” Juan said.

Sessions run from 6.30pm from Monday to Thursday, with first general entry at 6.45pm and last entry at 9.15pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the last session is at 9.45pm.
From October 12, the start time will be pushed back to 6.45pm.
