The father of American actor Chad Lowe has honoured the life of his 13-year-old granddaughter Fiona following her tragic, sudden death.
The Lowe family shared the news of young Fiona’s death on Tuesday, remembering her as a “loving girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance”.
On Wednesday, her grandfather Chuck paid tribute to the teenager by sharing a throwback photo of Fiona in a swimming pool on Instagram.
“Rest in peace, sweet Fiona,” he wrote in the caption.
His followers flooded the comments section with their own tributes and messages of condolences for the family.
“Oh Chuck…I can’t imagine. You and your whole family are in our thoughts and prayers,” one follower wrote.
Another wrote: “So so so very sorry. I grew up in Malibu with Rob and Chad, please give them and their families my very best!”
“May her memory forever be a blessing,” a third added.
It comes after Chad and his wife Kim Painter shared the devastating news of their daughter’s death in a statement to People and encouraged people to reach out to mental health services.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the statement read.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.

Chad, who’s the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, 62, also shares daughters Nixie Barbara, 10, and Mabel Painter, 17, with his wife, Kim.
Following news of Fiona’s death, a source told People on Wednesday that the teen’s school and community are coming together to honour her memory.
During a 2024 appearance on the Still Here Podcast, the Life Goes On actor opened up about how it’s an “incredible privilege” to raise his daughters.
The 58-year-old explained how being a girl dad has changed him forever.
“I’m a girl dad. It’s so interesting because [I’m] always wanting to have my own experiences and not live in the shadow or follow in the footsteps of somebody. I get the experience of being a girl dad,” he said.
“I feel like having daughters is such an incredible privilege.”
“I know that there are struggles,” Chad continued at the time.
“And now it’s taken what I’ve known intellectually, and it’s put it in my heart because I now have three daughters. And so, I look at the world from really their perspective and I see the world and a lot of the injustices in the world from their perspective.”
