Hyderabad: During raids across prone areas of the CURE place on Tuesday, October 6, TG SAFE officials issued show-cause notices to the establishments facing possible suspension or revocation of their drug licenses in a major assault on the illegal selling and distraction of habit-forming drugs.
The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs ( TG SAFE), in collaboration with members of its Enforcement Wing, conducted raids on retail medical stores in the Goshamahal, Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki, Malakpet, and Charminar, respectively.
The specific police effort aimed to stop the illegal selling and diversion of habit-forming medications like Codeine-containing cough syrups, tapenzoll, naproxen, nitrazepam, pregabalin-containing formulas, Zolpidem, and Alprazolam tablets.
Authorities conducted an investigation into the sale and distribution of these medications in health establishments that were found to be prone to misuse. During the checks, documents and other important details were examined.
Show-cause finds were issued to the 111 health shops after discrepancies were discovered at the locations. Depending on the nature of the offenses and the messages provided by the store owners, the notices open the door to corporate activity, including the suspension or revocation of drug licenses.
The police effort is a part of TG SAFE’s ongoing efforts to stop the abuse of habit-forming drugs, especially in troubled areas. Following the investigation of the responses to the observes, more action will be taken.
