A 15-year-old boy is recovering under police guard in hospital with burns after a suspicious fire broke out at a Korean barbecue restaurant in Melbourne’s southeast.
Two intruders allegedly broke into the Springvale Rd business near Windsor Ave shortly after midnight on Sunday, moments before black smoke began billowing from the building’s top floor.
No one was inside the restaurant, and the pair allegedly fled the scene in a car.
A short time later, the teenager was found with burns at a fast food restaurant on Warrigal Rd in nearby Heatherton.
He was arrested at the venue and taken to hospital under police guard.
His condition is not known.
