A baby who was critically injured after being hit by a car in regional Victoria has died in hospital.
Police are investigating after the one-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries on Vermont Rd at Smythesdale, near Ballarat, about 1.20pm on Monday
The incident occurred on a private property.
Ambulance Victoria sent a specialist helicopter crew, intensive care and advanced life support paramedics to the scene.
The child was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, but later died.
