Four students at a Sydney high school have been hospitalised after being affected by chemicals during a science class.
A NSW Education Department spokesman said the incident at Airds High School, in Sydney’s south, prompted the school to activate its emergency procedures as a precaution.
“Five students were assessed by NSW Ambulance, with four students transported to hospital for further assessment,” a spokesman said.
Footage circulating on social media shows students being evacuated from the school while fire crews and paramedics respond to a HAZMAT incident.
NSW Fire and Rescue have been contacted for comment.
