Former police officer and accused double murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon is giving evidence in his own defence.

Lamarre-Condon, 31, says in February 2024 he killed his ex Jesse Baird and Mr Baird’s new boyfriend Luke Davies in self-defence.

BREAK AND ENTER

* Prosecutors allege Lamarre-Condon illegally broke in to Mr Baird’s house in August 2023 and stole his phone and wallet with a key he had secretly copied for himself

* The senior constable said he entered the house with a key left for him in the letterbox. Lamarre-Condon said he forgot he was holding Mr Baird’s wallet and phone when he panicked and ran down the street

CHANGING VEHICLES

* The Crown alleges Lamarre-Condon got his mother to rent him a different car the day before the killings so he could transport Mr Baird’s body

* He testified he accompanied his mother to rent a car days before the alleged murders because her vehicle needed repairs, and borrowed the car the day the men died to collect belongings without being recognised by Mr Baird

DISGUISE

* Lamarre-Condon is seen heavily disguised as an Uber Eats driver, including hi-vis jacket and motorcycle helmet, so he could not be identified on CCTV, the Crown says

* He said he disguised himself to not be recognised and accused of harassment if someone came in to the house when collecting his belongings

KILLING OF JESSE BAIRD

* Mr Baird was shot twice, through the shoulder and in an “execution-style” shot through the temple, the prosecution says

* Lamarre-Condon said his ex-boyfriend lunged at him with a knife and he intentionally fired to incapacitate Mr Baird. The officer says his finger was on the trigger when the pair fell to the ground and he accidentally discharged the gun, fatally shooting his ex-boyfriend

* The 31-year-old offered to plead guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Baird but the plea was not accepted

KILLING OF LUKE DAVIES

* The Crown alleges Mr Davies was murdered when Lamarre-Condon heard him making a call to triple zero and shot him through a bedroom door

* Lamarre-Condon says Mr Davies emerged and picked up the discarded gun, arguing the other man’s finger was on the trigger when the gun discharged during an ensuing struggle

SURFBOARD BAGS

* Prosecutors say the purchases of two surfboard bags show the officer always intended to kill Mr Baird

* Lamarre-Condon says the first bag was to transport a surfboard he left at Mr Baird’s house

BODY DISPOSAL

* Prosecutors say Lamarre-Condon’s efforts cleaning the house and disposing bodies – including driving 200km to sink bodies in a dam – were to hide involvement in alleged murders

* Lamarre-Condon says he panicked, in a moral dilemma because he was guilty of Mr Baird’s manslaughter but feared being targeted in jail. He admits he cleaned the house and tried to sink the bodies
