Police are investigating after a body was found in bushland near Lithgow, west of the NSW Blue Mountains.
The body was located late on Saturday at Newnes Plateau as part of an ongoing police investigation.
A post-mortem will be carried out in the coming days to determine the cause of death.
“Until family of the deceased have been spoken to by police, the identity will not be confirmed,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“A crime scene has been established and investigations under Strike Force Pevani – assisted by detectives from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – are continuing.”
