A 45-year-old man was given a 20-year sentence in Hyderabad for sexually assaulting a second-grade child at his Kondapur home in 2023.
Additionally, the Fast Track Special Judge for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences ( POCSO ) cases sent a fine to the convict, Meenagala Venugopal, along with Rs 3, 000 and Rs 3 lakh in victim compensation.
The accused Meenagala Venugopal alias Venu, a tribal of Andhra Pradesh, had a close relationship with the small prey in Kondapur. According to a discharge from A Muthyam Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Cyberabad, he did take the girl to his house and repeatedly raped her.
Venu threatened to tell the child not to tell anyone about the event. Eventually, the veteran informed her family, and a complaint was filed with the police on May 16, 2023.
According to criminal tests, injuries consistent with sexual assault were revealed during a civil surgeon’s medical evaluation.
After receiving the results, the officers examined the kid’s clothing and bedsheets for the crime. On May 18, 2023, government detained the accused after recording statements from the woman’s family, testimony, and forensic specialists. Venu was presented to the court after a command sheet was submitted.
The rapid track court later found the accused guilty, sentenced him to a 20-year, stringent sentence, and gave the survivor a Rs. 3, 000 fine and Rs. 3 million compensation.
