New Delhi: According to authorities, the suspect in the shooting of Manipuri singer Chongtham Vikram Singh reportedly wanted to “teach him a lesson” by beating him but did not anticipate the abuse to end in a fatal blow, according to a statement released on September 9 from the police on Wednesday, September 9.
According to the police, the accused reportedly told the police that they had punched and kicked the 54-year-old musician after he raised an argument outside his Kilokari home during questioning.
A senior police officer claimed that Singh had on occasion complained to the owner of a local dhaba about the sound being caused by gathering that. But, Singh had not yet submitted a formal complaint to the police regarding the sound.
The dhaba remained open until evening, according to the report, and it attracted visitors from nearby neighborhoods as well as from nearby individuals.
Authorities questioning cultural perspective
The police claimed they were looking into every aspect of the case, including whether there was a cultural angle. According to a policeman origin, the research has not yet discovered any instances of Singh being racially abused during the altercation.
The first information report ( FIR ) that was filed at Sunlight Colony police station on Singh’s son’s complaint mentions section 103 ( 2 ) ( Murder ) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relates group murder committed under the provisions.
The authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the nature of Singh’s injuries. First, it appears that he suffered internal wounds that led to his death.
Incident from Sunday
Singh went upstairs on Sunday around 11.30 p.m. after hearing a noise outside his house. When his brother opened the door and saw a group of people punching and kicking him, according to the problem, he heard his parents yell.
Singh’s 20-year-old son Yaiphaba took his son to Holy Family Hospital after he later returned home but complained of dizziness. According to the officers, he died the day after sustaining his injuries at 6 am.
7 children were detained.
In connection with the situation, seven people have been detained, and a minor has been apprehended. The accused have been identified as Bharat Kumar ( 19 ), Pramod ( 26 ), Ramzan Khan ( 22 ), Deepanshu ( 21 ), Mohan Vishwakarma ( 32 ), Vijay ( 36 ) and Mannu ( 26 ), the police said.
The dhaba owner’s function and its functions are also being looked into by the police. According to sources, no irregularities in the operation of the establishment have yet to be discovered, and action would be taken against the landlord if anything changes during the investigation.
To determine the order in which things happened and what factors caused the assault, the police are looking at CCTV footage and questioning testimony.
Members of Delhi’s northeast community are concerned about the shooting, with some residents claiming that residents of the area are subject to racial discrimination and sex abuse in the capital.
Singh was a well-known singer and guitarist who had resided in Kilokari for more than 20 years. In the early 1980s, he served as the band’s lead guitarist in Manipur and eventually became a performer and songs tutor in Delhi.
