Adam Sandler wears socks in swimming pools.
The 59-year-old actor’s daughter, Sunny Sandler, said he struggles to bend down to remove them beforehand, so Adam takes his socks off while floating in the water before draining them.
Appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 17-year-old actress said: “He wears his socks in the pool because he can’t bend to take them off on land.”
Jimmy, 51, was sceptical of the claim, and protested: “That is not true at all. He’s the funniest dude ever.”
But Sunny insisted: “I swear it’s true!”
The talk show host asked for clarification, saying: “So he jumps in the pool with his socks and then floats his feet up to take them off?”
Confirming that is what comedian Adam does, she replied: “Yes, and then he’ll drain them. And then you play catch with them.”
Sunny also recalled how she and her 20-year-old sibling, actress Sadie Sandler, used to mock the Happy Gilmore star by wearing his clothes, and jump into the swimming pool with their socks on.
The Don’t Say Good Luck cast member said: “Me and my sister, we dressed up in his clothes before that was popular and cool. The big shirts, the shorts, we held Diet Cokes and yelled about the air conditioning being off.
“And then we jumped in the pool with our socks on.”
Last December, Adam, who has Sunny and Sadie with his 51-year-old wife, actress Jackie Sandler, said it has become harder to make his daughters laugh as they have grown older.
Speaking on 79-year-old David Letterman’s Netflix talk show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the Big Daddy alum said: “They used to laugh easier. Now they’re older, and they judge you a little bit. I do hear, ‘Oh, don’t say this.'”
However, getting his children to laugh is still the “greatest thing” that Adam can hope for.
He said: “You’re happiest when they’re happy.”
Sadie and Sunny have appeared in many of their dad’s movies over the years, including Happy Gilmore 2, Grown Ups, and Just Go With It.
Adam said: “My friends all had kids at the same time, so they all grew up together on sets.
“And now kids know a lot about making movies and stuff. It’s great… They’ve been in a bunch, they did two different movies this summer.”
Jackie, who married the Jay Kelly entertainer in 2003, also appeared alongside Adam and their daughters in Happy Gilmore 2, Grown Ups, and Just Go With It, and several of his other films.
