Pickett has a shot at redemption, following his earlier miss.
He runs and boots truly and there’s no chance he’ll miss now. Melbourne fans are euphoric, screaming and cheers in the stands.
It’s do or die right now at the G’ as both sides hunt a goal.
After leading for leading the whole game, Collingwood are running out of time to reclaim the lead.
Kysaiah Pickett capitalised on an error from Collingwood, but his shot at goal was intercepted. That was a much-needed goal for Melbourne to cement their lead, but they could not convert.
Moments later, Jordan De Goey has an option to boot a goal, but also misses.
Players seem to be loosing their cool. We’ve got less than two minutes left and Melbourne lead by two points. Collingwood coach Craig McRae is up on his feet and appears to be yelling out.
NEVER MIND AGAIN.
What a goal from Paddy Cross who sends it long, flushing it straight through the sticks. Melbourne are back in front, with less than six minutes left.
Players are scrambling now, the play is fast and desperate.
NEVER MIND
Angus Anderson has launched one and countered with a goal of his own to put the Pies back in front. The fans at the G’ seem to hit new octaves and I fear for their vocal cords.
Pies lead by four points after a behind from Daniel McStay.
Bayley Fritsch just took an absolutely sensational mark, kneeing a Collingwood’s Isaac Quaynor out of the way.
He booted truly to notch his third goal for the afternoon.
Melbourne are suddenly in front with 10 minutes to go. There are 88,015 fans at the MCG and you can hear them all screaming.
Score: Melbourne lead 10.9 (69) to Collingwood 10.7 (67).
We’ve got 13 minutes to go and it’s impossible to say who is going to come out on top in this contest.
Anytime Collingwood try to stretch their lead, Melbourne somehow find the answers to counter.
Collingwood lead by six points.
Max Gawn is badly favouring his left shoulder. He couldn’t lift his arm in that marking contest with Jack Buller who outmarked him and kicked the first goal of the last quarter.
Moments after Buller’s major, Caleb Windsor boots one through. However, the umpire reviews it and it’s deemed a behind.
The umpires check in with the ARC and confirms the ball hit the post.
It doesn’t hugely matter because Bayley Fritsch boots one minutes later.
That’s the siren and the thousands of fans at the MCG cheer and roar. It’s been a week of upsets and close games and this Monday thriller looks to be no different.
However, Collingwood would ideally like their winning margin to not go down to the wire. A superb Jack Buller opens the final quarter with a goal (his second major for the afternoon) to push the Pies ahead.
That was a gigantic term of footy. With one quarter left, Collingwood lead by five points.
The margin has never been greater than 18 points in this game, as both sides trade back-to-back goals.
