After months of filming and schedule changes, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War has finally completed its shoot. The much-awaited romantic war drama, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, is now headed into post-production ahead of its theatrical release on January 21, 2027.
The film’s shoot began on November 7, 2024, and continued through multiple schedules, with the final leg beginning in August 2026. The completion of filming marks a major milestone for the ambitious project, which has been among the most anticipated films since it was announced.

Bhansali and the team reportedly marked the end of the shoot with an emotional farewell to the entire unit. With filming now complete, the filmmaker will turn his attention to the film’s post-production.
Love & War was initially scheduled to release on Christmas 2025, but its release was subsequently pushed to 2026 before the current date was announced. The film is now slated to arrive in theatres during the Republic Day weekend in January 2027.
The film brings together Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal for the first time in a Bhansali directorial. While details about the story and characters have largely been kept under wraps, the combination of the three actors and Bhansali has made the project one of the most awaited Hindi films.
The film is expected to blend romance with the backdrop of war, with Bhansali bringing his signature visual style and emotionally driven storytelling to the narrative. Despite the anticipation, the makers have so far kept the first look and footage from the film largely under wraps.
Love & War will release worldwide on January 21, 2027, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
